Bottom line first: Our 3-yr-old loved the costume.
Yes, it collapses a bit, and could be better-made, and then there's the general problem of dressing a human like a car, which is an inherently awkward proposition. But if you have a Cars-crazed child, it works.

I know people have complained about how flimsy this costume is. It is pretty flimsy. But I just taped/glued some small wooden rods to the seams area and it stands up just fine now. Yeah I wish it had been made better and it seems a little overpriced. But, personally, I find every Halloween costume you can buy to be that way. I just accept it'll be overpriced and flimsy and not made for every day wear. However, if your little one really loves Lightning McQueen like mine does, you can definitely make this work and there's really not anything else like it that I have found.

The product is flimsy and never unbends from the folded shape in which it was shipped, even with ironing. With that said, my 2 1/2 yr old grandson didn't even notice, he just loves "Cars". He dressed as a race car driver, and put on his Lighting McQueen car and had a great time trick-or-treating. The only negative was the safety issue since he could not see steps or other obstacles. Was expensive for the quality.

I would have loved the car more if it had cost less. The reason being I had to put some work into it in order for my grandson to wear it. It is very soft and it just flops. In the picture online it shows the car standing upright and it does not come that way. I had to get very thick (1/4") poster board and glue and duct tape it to the under side to make the car stand up.
all in all once I did that it was perfect & he loved it.

My husband and I could not find this costume where we lived so we looked online and found the best deal for it here on Amazon.com. It arrived in a timely manner and was in great condition. My son really likes the costume and enjoyed wearing it for Halloween. He also got a lot of great comments on the costume while trick or treating.
